Join the Lab

Thank you for your interest in joining the lab. My lab conducts work on a broad range of topics in plant community ecology, from the ecosystem-level effects of biodiversity to plant-microbe interactions. I welcome motivated students and postdocs who are interested in these topics or who would like to conduct research in areas related to these topics.

Undergraduates

Currently, I have a great team of undergraduate assistants helping with essential tasks that keep the lab running, such as sample analysis, lab organization, and data entry.  I am also very supportive of motivated students conducting independent research projects.  If you would like to join the team, please send me an email with 1) your resume and 2) a brief statement explaining why you are interested in ecological research.

Graduate students

My goal as a graduate student mentor is to produce scientists who are confident in their ability to ask and answer important questions in ecology. This requires excitement, hard work, and creativity. If you are interested in joining the lab, please look over my website to familiarize yourself with my lab’s research. Then, send me an email with 1) your CV and 2) a brief statement of your research interests.

Postdocs

Currently, I do not have funding for a postdoc, but I am always excited to sponsor postdocs who would like to apply for external fellowships – such as the NSF Postdoctoral Research Fellowship or the Smith Conservation Research Fellowship. If you are interested in working with me, please send me an email with your CV and research interests. Then, we can start a conversation about potential funding sources.
